Senior Step up day!

We met this morning at Chick-fil-a at 7 to decorate our cars and eat breakfast. Today was our first official day as a Senior at school so we all decorated our cars with streamers and balloon and writing. One of the boys that had a pick-up truck made 3 big flags and put them in the bed of his truck. When we were all ready to go we followed Andrew and his truck to school . It fun to see all the people staring at us as we all drove down the road. When we got to school we had to do the "victory lap" so we all drove around the loop road in our cars honking our horns. All the lower school kids waved at us when we drove by. It was so cute. The funny thing was our principal joined in and decorated her car too! She wrote "Her Royal Highness" on the back window and on the sides wrote "the best principal in town"

School is out, but we exams until Wednesday. We only have to go when we have exam and we can leave right when we finish. Today I had my English exam at 9 and I'll be leaving soon to go take my Math exam at 1:30. English was very very very easy. I was finished in half an hour. I didn't expect to finish that early so I decided to come home before Math. I studied so much I knew every single answer by just looking at the first word of the question. My teacher let our class make up the questions for the exam and then copy them all down for a study guide, so I basically studied our exam. It was great because I use a good grade in English! :)

Graduation weekend

It's been a busy weekend with graduation Friday night we had the actual Graduation Ceremony and dinner. It was so much fun! We had dinner before the ceremony in Faith Hall, and then we went over to the Church and had the service. It was wonderful, they had 4 senior girls sing a song to their class, and they had the kindergarteners sing to them as well, it was adorable. My class had to sit on the side so I didn't get very good pictures of the people on the stage and the seniors walking across to receive their diplomas. My school has a tradition where the graduating seniors light a candle of a rising senior. It represents handing over the responsibilities of being a senior and being the example of the school. I think its pretty neat. So my class had to sit together on the side so we could all walk up together when it was time. Our head master challenged us and told us all of the responsibilities of being a senior. Then when it was all over we had time to visit with everyone and talk to the graduated seniors.

My first day of work

So today was my first day of work at Disney as a Lifeguard. BOYYYY was I in for a surprise. I guess because I've been raised in a home where I was taught not to swear, or smoke or drink or anything stupid like that could hurt my body, I was oblivious to the fact that everyone else in the world does it! I was in shock when I heard the person training me start cursing every other world in their conversation with me. I was in such shock that I guess they noticed it and asked me what was wrong. I told them that cursing bothered me and that just made him laugh at me. I mean I've heard people swear before, but not like this, this was just ridiculous. I just sat their in silence for a while until he asked if I was "religious or something." I told him about Christ and what I believed-- which just made him laugh at me more. Later he was telling me about how he goes out and parties every night and gets drunk and I just sat there in shock listening to all the stories he was telling me. When I didn't say anything back to him he said in a thick Columbian accent "oh I forgot you were religious." This went on all day long and he was asking me questions that really offended me in a lot of different ways. I can't even begin to explain how weird I felt as he was saying all of this stuff to me. There are so many things he told me about himself that made me extremely uncomfortable. He kept telling me that I didn't talk at all, but all of you that know me, know that I talk ALOT! Kind of like now, even though I'm not really talking, just typing. I'm just glad I have God on my side, because with out Him, I wouldn't have made it through the day.

Praise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

Sneak Day!!!

Today was 5th grade Sneak Day! It was at my friend Lauren's house because her sister is in 5th grade. They live on the lake and they have a great set up for it, so they hosted it. None of the 5th graders knew it was today and they were totally surprised! Lauren and I got to stay home from school and help life guard, but by the end of the day none of them wanted to swim anymore and they just wanted to do the awesome blow-up slides and so Lauren and I got to do them too!!!

It ended up getting really really muddy because there was so much water, so the kids ended up going on the slide backwards and sliding into the mud! I never did that but I got plenty of the mud and grass on me when I was on the slide. They boys would slide into the mud and then just get up and run and slide back through it, so it got pretty messy.

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson, or to help you figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be - a roommate, a neighbor, a professor, a friend, a teammate, a family member, or even a complete stranger - but when you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment they will affect your life in some profound way.

Sometimes things happen to you that may seem horrible, painful, and unfair at first, but in reflection you find that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower, or heart. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness, and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, whatever they may be, life would be like a smoothly paved straight flat road to nowhere. It's hard to figure out what God has in store for your life if you are never face adversity or hard times, because when you face a difficult time, He is always there to give you strength and help you through. There will never be a better friend than Him.

The people you meet who affect your life, and the success and downfalls you experience, help to create who you are and who you become. Even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are sometimes the most important ones. If someone loves you, give love back to them in whatever way you can, not only because they love you, but because in a way, they are teaching you to love and how to open your heart and eyes to things. If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart, forgive them, for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart.

Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from those moments everything that you possibly can for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people that you have never talked to before, and listen to what they have to say. Let yourself fall in love, break free, and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, it will be hard for others to believe in you. You can make anything you wish of your life. Create your own life and then go out and live it with absolutely no regrets. You never know what tomorrow may have in store, so think before you speak and say something that could potentially hurt someone or your relationship with them. Learn a lesson in life each day that you live!

God has a plan in store for each and every person. Live everyday knowing that you are here on earth for a purpose. Your purpose is to serve the Living God and share His word to all you can. Go through each day confident that you know there is more than life on earth, it only gets better from here. He is always in control and He will not let you experience situations that you can't handle. Smile... Because Jesus loved you enough to die for you.

Today is the tomorrow you were worried about yesterday. Was it worth it?

It's a beautiful day outside and so I decided to take my dog, Gabby, on a walk. Since my camera is broken, I look my mom's big camera with me! I must admit I like hers a little better :) It takes much better pictures! I had fun experimenting with it and taking a bunch of random pictures! I only got a few that I really liked, but oh well. It was still fun! We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal
