Gainesville Tournament

We got home from Gainesville really late last night after we played the Championship game! Which we won! :) I had lots of fun but I am glad to be home! Here are some pictures from this week!

We were able to tour and practice at the University of Florida's practice facility!

This is the theater room where they watch film on other teams and prepare for games! It just so happens that they were playing Nebraska the day we were there!

Because the Gators are playing in the National Championship they are still practicing, so one day we went down to the field and got to take pictures with some of the players!

The Team with Michael and Butchie, both of them graduated from TFA and played for our Football team!

The Starting Quarterback Chris Leak!!!!

The other quarterback, Tim Tebow!

We defiantly had a tough week. Many of us were battling sickness and we lost 2 girls to serious injuries in the 3rd game. One of our girls hit her head hard on the floor after being pushed going up for a layup and got a concussion and is out for a week or so. And another one was rushed to the hospital after the game because she was so dehyrated. After being hooked up to an IV for a couple of ours she was okay, but she was only able to play limited minutes in the next game. We won the Championship game and now we get to take the last few days of our break off to heal ourselves :)

I haven't had much time to blog lately because I have been gone so much! In fact, I still am! I'm in Gainesville this week for the Florida Prospects Tournament. We've won our first 2 games and play again tonight at 8:30.

We had such a great time in Phoenix last week. We won 2 and lost 2. Playing at the level we did is going to help us so much as it comes time for the state play offs. We placed 6th overall, which is pretty good. Here are a few quick pictures from last week in Arizona!!! I'll post more later when I load them to the comptuer!

It's Basketball Season!!!

Wow it's been a long time! I have been so busy lately with basketball and school that I haven't had anytime to blog! School is slowing coming to an end though! This week is exam week then we are out until next year! :) Here's a little basketball update and our schedule for the next couple weeks :)...

The whole month of December is pretty much dominated by basketball. Last weekend the JV girls and boys and the Varsity girls and boys were all in Tallahassee. We left Friday morning and all 4 teams played Florida High Friday night. Saturday we played North Florida Christian School(the team we beat in the State Championship game) and the boys played Maclay High School. We won both games, but the boys unfortunatly lost both. They were both very close games though! Sunday morning we all went to Church at North Florida Baptist Church. We planned to leave right after church but were delayed when our bus wouldn't start! We were stuck for about 3 1/2 hours before someone fixed the bus! Thankfully the Church let us stay in one of the building while we were waiting. We had pizza and played games while we waited for the bus to be fixed!

We leave for Phoenix, Arizona for the Nike Tournament of Champions next Sunday morning! We have been working since last year to raise money for this trip and we are excited that it is finally here! This past week our team was ranked 5th in the Nation for girls basketball by Sports Illuistrated Magazine! We are very excited about that and very honored as well! The Lord has blessed our team greatly over the past couple years and it has been such a fun expirence being apart of this team.

We get home from Phoenix December 22nd are home for Christmas then head our again the 26th for another tournament in Gainesville, Florida! (I told you December was dominated by basketball!)

Dixie Stampede

Last night we went to "Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede!" It was tons of fun! This was the Christmas Version. The arena is split into 2 halves. The North and the South. (The North Pole and the South Pole since it is Christmas) They have 2 teams of horse riders that compete for their side. There are so many talented riders that can do different tricks and it is really neat!

I defiantly recommend going to see this show! It was so fun!

Daddy Got to be in the Show!!! :)

Thanksgiving

For thanksgiving this year, we had some family from Alabama come in! Daddy's cousin Julie and her husband and kids came over. We hadn't seen them since we were little kids, so it was great to spend time with them. Here are some pictures from the day: The Girls

Weekend in Nebraska

Wow, I'm getting really behind on my blogging! :) I was in Nebraska Last weekend, I had tons of fun! Even though it was only for a short time, we made the most of it! I sure do miss the Nebraska weather!
No Leaves! You don't see that here in Florida!
I visited the University of Nebraska while I was there, and I really liked it. I would really like to go there, so hopefully we will be able to work it out. I also got to see a Nebraska Volleyball game!!! That was defiantly a highlight of the trip!
Something that is always a highlight, spending time with the Wissmanns! :) It was so fun to see them, and to meet their newest little one, Charissa! We played volleyball and Ultimate "Glowstick" one night out in the cold! I'm not sure how cold it was, all I know is that my cell phone froze! Thankfully it thawed out :)
(Thanks for taking pictures Alaythia!)

Since it was harvesting time there, daddy wanted me to see what it is like to work in the fields. So one day he took me out to Rising City and I got to drive the tracker!

Elyse and Ian Terry

Elyse Erin Terry

August 5, 1995- October 10, 2005

Ian Tyler Terry
December 30, 1996- October 10, 2005

One year ago today, the lives of the 2 little children that lived across the street from me, were innocently taken by their father. Their father shot both of them and then shot himself. It is such a tragic story, but I know Elyse and Ian are standing with their Heavenly Father who will protect them and never hurt them as their earthly father did. I miss them both very much, it is not the same without them around.

Picture day!

It has become a tradition for our volleyball team to have our pictures taken by our coaches mom each year. Last year we took them inside, but this year we took them outside on the Noah's Arc Pre-school playground. Here are a few of the pictures that my mom took with her camera:

Gator Game

We were able to go to the Gator Game yesterday! Someone called mommy with tickets Friday, so we were able to go. We left around 12:30 and arrived in Gainesville at about 3. Some friends from school's grandparents live up there and they drove their RV over to the field. It is crazy how many people and cars are there. People are parked everywhere on the campus, it is very hard to find a parking place. We were able to spend time in our friends RV before the game where we watched the first half of the Nebraska game!

The Player's grand entrance

The band was very good! They did a show before the game, and at half time. They make lots of different shapes and words!

There are 2 boys that graduated from TFA that play for the Gators. It was really neat to see them in the UF jersey. Both of them are brothers of girls that I played sports with.

This is what it looked like outside all day

Senior Beach Retreat

Wow, I don't even know how to begin to tell you about how much fun this weekend was. Before this retreat our class was split into many different groups of people who never really came out of their own groups to talk to others. Our class was very segregated. After this weekend, you would NEVER know that is how we were before. I really can't even describe, it is just so neat!

The boys played football on their knees while we were waiting for the bus :)

We came to school Thursday morning at 8 for a Senior breakfast and to meet and talk about our senior privileges. At about 11 o'clock we loaded a bus and headed to the mall to eat! After we left the mall at 12:30, we headed to Hutchinson Island. When we arrived at about 3 and had a few hours of free time to explore the hotel before we had our dinner cruise on the "Island Princess." The cruise was so much fun! We ate dinner inside the boat then we out on the deck and took lots of pictures! There was a 2nd story where there were tables and couches to sit on and enjoy the beautiful views.

Dinner on the Island Princess

When we came back to the hotel we had a meeting where they introduced the theme of the weekend, which was "What is your perspective." pastor Uth came and talked to us about being real and how we all put on a mask to hide who we really are. Then we had a break for about 30 minutes. We played ping-pong, ate pizza and cake for someone's birthday, and relaxed in the hammocks around the pool deck. That night we had another meeting where we broke up into small groups where we got to share what we thought was the reason that many times people put on a mask or aren't real. We finished around 11. After our meeting we had about 30 minutes of free time before we had to be in our rooms.

Jaimie and I in the hammock

Friday morning we had another meeting where a couple of the teachers shared their testimonies. All of them were so different so it was really neat to hear how the Lord works in everyone's lives. After that we all headed over to the beach where we took our class picture. We all wore denim, and a white shirt. It was VERY hot, but all the pictures turned out so cute!
We had free time all afternoon! We spend a lot of time in the pool and some of us went back over to the beach. The boys played keep away with a football in the pool, while the girls sat around the pool and watched them tackle each other to get the ball. After a while it got too hot so mostly everyone went back up stairs to their rooms. A few of the boys brought 500 packs of water balloons and had fun throwing them at people :) We spent a lot of time in the hallways playing cards or just talking. It was a lot of fun.

Friday evening we had a meeting. It was so good. When we came in, the lights were dim and there was soft music playing. We were given letters from our parents and from a teacher at school that was praying for us. Reading these letters made most people cry, but the crying had only begun at that point. After we read our letters our headmaster came up and told a story about his best friend in highschool. The story was about how they were best friends all through school, then one time they got into a fight and didn't speak for a long time. Before they went off to college they made up and were friends again, but because they were going to different schools their friendship never was how it was before. His friend called him a few times to hang out when they were home, but he never could because he was always busy. Then the next time he got a phone call from his number, it was his friends brother, telling Mr. Whitaker that his friend had been missing for 2 days. When they finally found his friend it was too late. He had been scuba diving by himself, and drowned.

Using the his story of as an example, Mr. Whitaker challenged us not to let that happen to us. He told us not to leave the room until all the problems were resolved with eachother. I never knew that there were so many hidden problems in our class. Everyone was crying and hugging and rekindling old friendships. The Lord worked in so many of our hearts and He brought our class together. I never would have thought it could happen because everyone is so different, but it did! Our class went from watching out for only ourselves and the other people in our "group," to watching out for everyone and protecting each other. It was such a fun weeked!

"Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."

John 3:20-21
