Christmas Snapshots

This year was a special Christmas. Since moving to Nebraska, the time I get to spend at home with my family is something that I cherish, even more than I did before. Our whole family {cousins, aunts and uncles included} had not been all together since our wedding. And even then, we were still missing Pat, my cousin Kelley's husband who was deployed overseas. And Ryder, who was not born yet! So, like I said, this year was special.

We arrived in Orlando on Wednesday afternoon. We left Nebraska at 2 am on Tuesday morning, after taking a short 2 hour nap. Monday night, we played volleyball at a local gym with Andrew's family until late-- call us crazy, but you can't beat spending time with family, and it was totally worth it!
The first day we drove 16+ hours to Birmingham, Alabama. My cousin and her husband live there, and they were very nice to let us stay at their place for the night. The second day of driving was much easier, only 8 hours. Thank you for all who prayed for safe travels. We are thankful for God's protection as we drove, especially after not getting much sleep. :)

Ryder, the cutest little Christmas Elf. :)
Andrew got his banjo out one night to play for my aunts dad. {pictured} he loves the banjo, and always wants Andrew to play. Ryder was fascinated by it. I think we got a future banjo player in the works!

We spend Christmas eve with my Dad's side of the family. This is always a highlight, and as I said before, this year being together was extra special.

 Kelley, Ryder and Pat.
Aren't they adorable?!

All the grand kids...and the great-grand child. :)

Ryder was so funny to watch open gifts. Usually he cared more about the paper and the box, but there were a few toys that caught his attention.

 Andrew, Kori, Katie, Andrew. :)
We played this game at the end of the night for a bonus Christmas present-- $42! It got pretty competitive, and we laughed a whole lot!
Gramps
Katie and Kelley were the final 2.
 and Katie won. :)

Christmas morning is always spent at my Mom's side of the family. But first we get up and have a family gift exchange. Having Andrew here to share it with us this year was totally awesome. My mom surprised us with an early anniversary gift, a scrapbook from when we were born to our honeymoon. I wish you could all see it because it is just amazing.

Gabby got a silver name tag for her collar from Tiffany's.

.....if you thought I was serious, please flick yourself in the ear...

After our family gift exchange we go over to my grandma's for our traditional Christmas breakfast.

The boys spent most of the morning shooting oranges with bb guns...boys.

Grandma and the grand kids... and great grand son, Hayden.

Can I just say, that this man is absolutely amazing?! I am so thankful for him! And I loved being able to spend our first Christmas together. :)
